Lip Blush
Lip Blush Technique
A Lip blush tattoo helps define and enhances the color of your lips. It is not a replacement of lipstick entirely because a healed lip blush will appear soft and natural in color. Unless of course you prefer a more concentrated lip color which we can build over time. As we age, the color of our lips tend to lose the youthful appearance of the natural pink tone. Lip blushing can help with adding color back in. This technique is also suitable for low grade hyperpigmentation or darkness around the lip line.

Frequently Asked Questions
After your lips are healed you can wear lipstick however most people prefer to use chapstick or lip gloss.
The retention varies from person to person, if properly cared for, lip blush tattoo should last 2-3 years. Additional touch ups may be necessary for desired results.
Some discomfort is felt during the outline and initial overall first pass. The area gets numbed with topical anesthetic after creating the outline as well as the first pass (layer of tattooing) so that little discomfort is felt. Pain tolerance varies with each person, medications, caffeine, and the body itself will have an effect on how much pain is felt.
The procedure takes approximately 3 hours. This varies depending on the complexity of the lip shape, pain tolerance, and saturation of color desired. My goal is to keep your lips natural and blushed, not intense enough to replace lipstick. If you are desiring a saturated bold color, we can discuss this further.
This varies from client to client. Typically, 2 to 3 sessions are required depending on the initial color of your lips and if we need to do some color correction around hyper pigmented (dark spots) lips. My intentions for your lip color is to keep it naturally soft and blushed, not to give you a lipstick look.
It doesn’t replace lipstick because lip blushing is tinting the lips. You can always use lipstick to add color.
Cold sores, risk of inflation, an allergy reaction to the tattoo ink, eating food with high acid content like tomatoes, vinegar and citrus fruits can cause irritation after the procedure before the lips are fully healed.
It is mandatory to send in a photo of your lips and attach information about what type of lip procedure was completed as well as your artist. Include the color of your current lips and how long ago the procedure was completed. Photos and information can be sent to [email protected] or text 781-808-1650.
We will have a consultation discussing your concerns, after care, and color selection. Then we will buff your lips out and numb the area. After 20 minutes of numbing, I will begin to map out your lips, then once we are both satisfied, I will initiate the tattooing process. Some ink may get in your mouth, this doesn’t taste great but it is safe if swallowed. We will continue to add numbing cream if needed after each pass (layer completed).
